Terms of Service

1 · Acceptance

By creating an account or otherwise using KTL you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

2 · Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use KTL. We ask for your date of birth when you set up your world and check it before creating your account – if you are under 16, no account is created. Giving a false date of birth is a breach of these terms and we may close the account.

3 · The service

KTL is a free, two-player relationship game for couples – cuteness boosts, a shared bond streak, a memory map, daily prompts, rewards and related features. We may add, change or remove features, or discontinue the service, at any time, and we’ll try to give notice of major changes where we reasonably can.

4 · Your account and your partner

• KTL links two people into a shared couple using an invite code or link. Content you add is shared with your linked partner.
• You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity on your account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

5 · Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload or send unlawful, harmful, abusive or infringing content;
• use KTL to monitor, pressure, harass or coerce a partner, or keep accessing a shared world after a relationship has ended without that person’s consent;
• attempt to access another couple’s data, or any part of the service you’re not authorised to access;
• reverse-engineer, scrape or interfere with the service, or bypass rate limits or security controls;
• use bots or automated means to interact with the service, beyond normal browser use.

We may investigate and take action, including suspending or terminating accounts, where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

6 · Your content

You keep ownership of what you create or upload. You grant KTL a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and display that content so the service can work, including sharing it with your linked partner. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to share anything you upload, including photos of other people.

7 · Our content and IP

KTL’s branding, design, game mechanics and underlying software remain our property, or that of our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell or create derivative products from it.

8 · No guarantee of availability

KTL is a small, independently-run project. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times, and features may be experimental or change without notice.

9 · Service provided as is

KTL is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows – including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

10 · Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

• we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, or loss of data, arising from your use of KTL;
• our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the service is limited to £50;
• nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11 · Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against reasonable claims, losses or costs arising from your breach of these Terms or content you upload, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.

12 · Suspension and termination

You may delete your world at any time from Settings, which permanently removes it for both partners and cannot be undone. It deletes both sign-ins too, so neither of you keeps an account afterwards. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible, and without notice where we believe it’s necessary to protect the service or other users.

13 · Third-party services

KTL depends on third-party services (described in our Privacy Policy) to operate. We aren’t responsible for outages or issues caused by those providers, though we’ll try to keep the service running smoothly.

14 · Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use KTL after a change means you accept the updated terms. Last updated: 7 August 2026.

15 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or the service, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your own country of residence.

16 · General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a right isn’t a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation of the service, provided your rights aren’t reduced.
