Delete your account

You can delete your KTL world from inside the app, and you do not need to contact us to do it. This page explains exactly what that removes, and how to ask us if you cannot get into the app.

Deleting from inside the app

1. Open KTL and go to Settings.
2. Scroll to the bottom, to Danger zone.
3. Choose Delete your world and type DELETE to confirm.

It deletes the world for both of you

KTL is a sealed two-person world, and there is only one of it. Deleting it removes the whole thing – not just your half. Your partner’s account goes with it, and neither of you can get any of it back. Please talk to each other first.

What is removed

• Both accounts, including the sign-ins and the email addresses behind them.
• Every memory you pinned, and every photo attached to them, deleted from our storage provider.
• All cuteness boosts, messages and reasons either of you wrote.
• Talking Hearts answers, love notes and secret tasks.
• XP, levels, ranks, energy, streaks, trophies, prestige and every reward, redeemed or not.
• Your dates of birth, and any birth time and place you added for astrology.
• Notification history and the device tokens used to send you alerts.

What is kept, and for how long

• Server logs for a short period, because they are written as requests happen and are how we investigate faults and abuse. They contain IP addresses and request paths, not your content.
• Error reports, if something in KTL broke for you before deletion. Email addresses and tokens are stripped before these are sent.
• Waitlist records, if you joined the waitlist, are separate from your account. Every waitlist email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove the record.
• Backups roll forward and age out on their own schedule; a deleted world is not restored into a live system.

Take a copy first, if you want one

Settings has an Export your data option that hands you a file containing your world – memories, messages, answers, rewards and progress. Deletion cannot be undone, so export before you delete if you want to keep anything.

If you cannot use the app

Email support@getktl.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete your world. We will confirm it is you before we do anything, and we will tell you once it is done.
