KTL

Who builds this

No panel of experts. Two people who live apart.

A lot of relationship apps put a roster of psychologists and licensed therapists on the homepage. We do not have one to offer, and we would rather tell you that plainly than imply otherwise.

Straight answer

No panel of experts, on purpose.

There is a real reason apps put credentialed experts on the homepage: it is a genuine trust signal, and a fair thing to look for before you hand an app your relationship. KTL does not have a clinical advisory board, and nothing in the app has been reviewed by a licensed therapist. What we have instead is smaller: a couple of people who have actually lived apart, who built each mechanic to solve a problem they were having themselves, and who still use the app they built every day.

Where it comes from

Features come from friction, not a framework.

Streak freezes exist because a real trip once nearly cost a real streak. Talking Hearts exists because asking the same three questions over text had gone stale for two real people. Nothing on this site started as a clinical theory applied top-down: it started as an actual annoyance, fixed, then kept because it worked.

Being clear

What KTL is not.

KTL is not a therapy tool, and it is not a substitute for professional support if a relationship needs it. It is a small daily ritual for two people who are already doing fine and want the distance to feel a little less like an obstacle. If you are a counsellor or coach working with clients navigating distance, see how KTL fits alongside that work.
