For couples who live apart
Long distance,
with a progress bar.
KTL is a tiny two-player game for couples in different places. You spend energy to level them up — never yourself. Keep one streak alive across time zones, and clear the fog off a map of everywhere you have been together.
You, 8:14am
Six boosts a day, and that is the whole budget. Spending one is a small decision.
+75
XP sent
“you make mornings better”
Them, 3:14am
RANK: Smitten · ×1.5 multiplier
Asleep. It is waiting for them when they wake up.
How it works
Three things, then it runs itself.
01
Start a world, invite them
One of you creates a world, sets your anniversary and gets an invite code. The other joins with it. A world holds exactly two people and it is private to the pair of you.
02
Spend your energy on them
Six boosts a day. Pick an amount from 10 to 100, write why they are being adorable, and send. The XP lands on them, multiplied by their rank. You can never boost yourself.
03
Keep the flame lit
Answer the daily question, open your chest, pin a place you went together. Do anything on a day they also do something, and your shared streak ticks up.
The core
Six things that do the heavy lifting.
Everything here works today. Nothing on this page is a roadmap item.
Cuteness boosts
The whole loop. Slide from 10 to 100, write why they are being adorable, and send. It costs you 1 of your 6 daily energy and the XP lands entirely on them. You never earn your own points — someone has to spend a turn on you.
Levels, ranks and a multiplier
XP turns into levels, levels turn into ranks, and your rank multiplies every boost you receive. Fresh Spawn takes a boost at face value; an Endgame Boss triples it. The more you are adored, the more each little "you are cute" is worth.
A streak that needs both of you
The Bond Streak only ticks up on a day you have both shown up. Miss one and a streak freeze covers you — you earn one every 7 days and can bank 3. Milestones at 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, 100 and 365 days pay out XP to both of you.
Talking Hearts
One shared question a day. You each answer privately and neither of you sees the other until you have both replied — then they reveal side by side and you each take +40 XP. Answers lock on send, so they stay honest.
A fog-of-war map
A shared world map under a haze you clear by pinning the places that meant something — title, note, date, up to three photos. Your pin clears the fog on their map within seconds. No GPS, no location tracking: fog only lifts where you deliberately pin.
Rewards you actually owe each other
Spend your 💎 balance on real-life favours — a call, a care package, you pick the film. Give them directly, or buy from Rex, our dino mascot moonlighting as a back-alley dealer, and the treat drops straight into your partner’s to-deliver list.
Built for the gap
Nothing needs you both awake.
Long distance breaks most couple apps because they assume you are in the same room, or at least the same hour. KTL does not.
Nothing needs you both online at once
Every part of the loop is asynchronous. Send a boost at 2am your time and it is waiting when they wake up. Talking Hearts holds your answer until they reply. Nothing expires because you were asleep in the wrong timezone.
The map is for the visits
Long distance means your shared places are scattered and rare. Pin every one — the airport, their kitchen, the weekend in a city neither of you lived in — and watch the fog come off a map that is only yours.
The streak survives a bad week
Streak freezes exist because time zones, work trips and flat batteries are real. Earn one a week, bank up to three, and a missed day gets covered instead of wiping the flame.
Rewards cross distance
The reward you owe them does not have to be in the same room. A phones-away hour on call, a film you both start at the same second, something posted to their door. You set the treat and the price.
You get a record of it
Monthly Wrapped replays what the two of you actually did — the boosts, the questions you answered, the places you pinned. When the distance feels long, it is proof the months were not empty.
The ladder
The longer you are adored, the more it counts.
Your rank multiplies every boost you receive. A +50 is worth 50 XP as a Fresh Spawn and 150 as an Endgame Boss. It snowballs on purpose.
| Level | Rank | Every boost is worth |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | Fresh Spawn | ×1 |
| 5–9 | Crushing It | ×1.25 |
| 10–19 | Smitten | ×1.5 |
| 20–34 | Unbearably Adorable | ×2 |
| 35–49 | Nauseatingly Cute | ×2.5 |
| 50+ | Endgame Boss | ×3 |
Hit level 50 and you can prestige — reset the climb for a permanent multiplier boost and a badge.
What it looks like
Sharp, dark, and mostly emoji.

Set the amount, say why, send. The XP lands on them.

Pin a memory and the fog lifts on both your maps.

One chest a day: XP, a reward, a love note or a secret task.

Spend 💎 on favours you actually have to deliver.
And the rest
Nine more small things.
Daily chest
One a day. XP, a reward, a love note, or a secret task only you can see.
Adventures
Swipe through date and recipe ideas. Both like the same one and it becomes a co-op quest.
Monthly Wrapped
A tap-through recap of your month, built only from what actually happened. Nothing invented.
Daily quest and readings
A small dare each day, a shared couple horoscope, and a personal reading from your own birth chart.
Trophy room
Badges for levels, streaks, map coverage and time together. Nothing to switch on.
Six themes
Classic black-and-green, or Rose Quartz, Lavender, Mint, Peach and Bluebell.
Cutie of the Week
A weekly badge for whoever was showered with the most cuteness.
Bonus windows
A surprise two-hour stretch where every boost you send is worth double.
Live sync and pings
Both phones update on their own, no refreshing. Push notifications so you do not miss each other.
Questions
The things people ask first.
Is KTL free?
Yes. Every feature described on this site is free right now, for both of you. There is no trial, no paywalled tier and no card required. If paid extras ever arrive they will be cosmetic — the relationship features stay free.
Does KTL work for long-distance couples?
That is who it is built around. The whole loop is asynchronous, so nothing needs you both awake at the same time. Boosts wait for them, Talking Hearts holds your answer until they reply, streak freezes cover the days that get away from you, and both phones stay in sync without refreshing.
How many people can be in one KTL world?
Exactly two. One of you starts a world and gets an invite code or link, the other joins with it, and that world is private to the pair of you. A world that already has two people in it cannot be joined.
Do I need to give KTL my location?
No. The map has no GPS and no location tracking. Fog only lifts where one of you deliberately taps to pin a memory, and the town and country are looked up from the spot you tapped — never from your device.
Can I earn XP for myself?
No, and that is the point. XP only ever arrives from your partner spending their energy on you. You get 6 energy a day, so you cannot spam it — each boost has to mean something.
Ready
Go be unbearable about each other.
Free, private to the two of you, and about a minute to set up.
