Paired writes a genuinely large amount about long-distance relationships: articles on staying connected, military relationships, long-distance gadgets, and more. What none of that content suggests, based on what is publicly available, is that the underlying product was built specifically around the asynchrony distance creates.
KTL is the other way round. Every mechanic, boosts, Talking Hearts, streak freezes, the memory map, is asynchronous by design, because the product started from two people being apart, not from a content calendar about it.
